For the first mover in a city.
Single-estate leaves, picked by hand and steeped to a stopwatch. Poured when they are ready — never before.
TEORA began on a two-acre plot above Kurseong, where our founder refused the auction floor’s price for patience. Four decades later we still pick by hand, fire in small lots, and number every batch like a serial — because a tea is only as honest as the origin it carries.
Everything else — the counter, the franchise, the cup — is just the estate, poured at the right temperature.
THE LEDGER
Two acres above Kurseong, Darjeeling.
A counting house on Harrison Road, Kolkata.
Stone-ground batch work in Uji, Kyoto.
A 600 sq ft counter in Bengaluru.
Every lot still numbered by hand.
We do not buy from a board. We buy from a slope. Every lot we pour traces back to a named garden, a plucking date, and the hands that picked it — that is what the lot number on the tin actually is.
The gardens are shade-grown, never rushed with fertilizer, and rested a full season before we replant. Slow ground makes slow leaf; slow leaf is the whole point of the brand.
Scroll, and steep. The leaf below travels the exact path yours takes in the pot — cold water, slow warmth, full color, and the pour.
Cold water, warmed slowly. The leaf stays folded, patient.
First steam. The curl loosens; the aroma is still shy.
Amber blooms. Stone fruit and wet slate begin to speak.
Poured in one slow arc. Never stewed, never hurried.
A TEORA store is a counter, a tasting room, and a working brewery in a 600-to-2,400 sq ft room. We supply the leaf, the numbers, and the training; you run the pour. Terms are plain, written down, and the same for every city.
For the first mover in a city.
Our most common first store.
For established operators.
We pick the corner, draw the room, and deliver it. You arrive to a plumbed, poured, finished store.
Six weeks, 300 cups. Your staff learns to nose a second flush from a first before they pour for a guest.
One sealed lot per batch, shipped from estate to your shelf with the harvest date intact. No repacking.
Steep times, pour counts, wastage rules. The numbers are written down so decisions are never vibes.
EVERY DOOR, SHELF AND COUNTER IS SET TO THE SAME BLUEPRINT — YOUR CITY JUST NEEDS A WALL.
EVERY STORE FITS OUT TO THE SAME DRAWING — YOUR CITY NEXT
I signed in March and poured my first cup in July. The site team did the legwork — I did the tasting. That is the whole difference.
The brew school was the point. My staff can now tell a second flush from a first by scent alone, and the guests feel it.
Their Silver Needle tastes like rain on warm stone. I have not bought tea anywhere else in three years.
Every harvest email reads like a letter from the estate, not a campaign. I read them the way other people read the paper.
Tell us where you pour from. A member of the expansion team — not a bot — reads every line and answers within two working days.
